Education
Striving to provide authentic learning for all
Overview
Education is the most valuable key for success, not only in academic knowledge but also in finding a place in the world and acquiring life experience. It is a process to pass the knowledge and heritage from generation to generation.
Creating joyful, empowering education which enhances livelihood options, creating socially and environmentally conscious citizens who are catalysts for change.
Our Solutions
1. Primary Education program
A shocking 17 million children in India are out of school. Working in hazardous conditions, living on the street, braving hunger, poverty and violence, childhood for them has become an endless struggle to survive.
But despite their circumstances, they have not stopped dreaming. Their dreams are as colourful as any other child’s and they have just as much potential to fulfil them. What they lack is a fair chance – an opportunity to go school, to hone their talents, to even have a happy and carefree childhood that every child deserves.
In Child Educational Sponsorship Programme, we identifies such out-of-school children from remote villages, tribal areas and urban slums, and provides them quality education. In addition to this, it also looks after their health, nutrition, and holistic development through participation in co-curricular activities.
Our Model Approach
We looks far beyond academics and believes in moulding young minds in to dynamic and holistic individuals through Shiksha (Education), Sanskaar (Values) and Shaksham (Skills).
Shiksha (Education)
Academic growth is basically love for constant upgradation in academics and joyful learning. This love is reinforced through “doing” techniques to maintain their interest in education.
Sanskaar (Values)
Early giving, sharing, sewa, gratitude, integrity, hard-work, discipline, sharing of joy, confidence building, sensitivity, awareness of the social evils, early awareness of their rights with responsibilities are imparted to strengthen the foundation of the children.
Shaksham (Skills)
Enables the youth to identify, promote and enhance their inherent skill which comes so naturally to them, which could as well become a life vocation.
2. Remedial education :
Remedial education (also known as developmental education, basic skills education, compensatory education, preparatory education, and academic upgrading) is assigned to assist students in order to achieve expected competencies in core academic skills such as literacy and numeracy. The process of Remedial education helps us to identify the slow learners and who cannot afford elementary education and providing them with the necessary help and guidance to help them overcome their problems.
In the process of our remedial education programme, We conduct the training for teachers, how to efficiently deliver the curriculum to children.
At the school level, there is a learning gap because children are learning by dge. We are trying to break that pattern and tell the children that we are doing school-related work with you, but the format will increase your understanding of the subject.
We have a volunteer-based setup where people from 10 years of expireance senior citizens come and help the children study. They help bridge the gap with their skills so that the children can perform better at school.
3. Library:
“Knowledge is the only key which can turn tables all at once”
A library is a place of information and knowledge, where a child can enhance their study habit and classroom experiences. Also a place which gives you an insight of those places where they have never been before and encourages them to dream.
With our belief when it comes to gifting, Knowledge is the best thing you can gift .
In library mission our volunteers collect books from various places and establish a library. We actually try to give some of the unprivileged children a tool , using which they can achieve whatever they want.
We always lay stress on encouraging and motivating them to take full advantage of the resources they are having, to make their lives better.
By doing all this we let them know that in this journey of their’s, they are not alone and people with same beliefs as ours will always stand by their side. There are many hurdles that may come when you wish to bring a change in the society but it’s up to you how you handle it. Our quiet conducive library environment is ideal for study.
4. Digital Transformation & literacy
More than 66 percent of India’s population lives in rural areas, of which close to 70 percent depends on agriculture for its livelihood. They have little or no access to education, transport, financial services, and the Internet. This is a huge barrier to encouraging rural entrepreneurship, implementing digital and financial inclusion, and building rural capacities and livelihoods. Enhancing the scope of digital penetration to rural communities would help in expanding the scope of the various initiatives that are already in place to help develop greater prosperity for all. The SHUF is focusing on bringing innovative technologies and approaches across different sectors to enhance the quality of life in rural communities.
Under the goal of digital literacy, we provide guided online experiences that help users discover and my information that is most useful and relevant to their life
